Weight Training and Conditioning is a one semester elective class offered in the Healthful Living Department. This course is designed for student development of strength training and conditioning. It involves proper lifting techniques in strength training and improvement in cardiovascular fitness training, safety precautions, injury prevention, and other methods of weight management. The major focuses are: muscular hypertrophy, general muscle toning, flexibility training, aerobic and anaerobic training, plyometrics, sprint work, nutrition, and achieving total body wellness.

Points of Emphasis: Proper spotting technique, safety procedures in the weight room. Determining lifting weight based on percentage charts.
